The Masculine DLC Panerai Ferrari Chronograph Watch Replica

The Italian watchmaking brand Officine Panerai has presented its new take on the idea of a Panerai Ferrari Chronograph watch replica. Or, in other words, its growing family of Ferrari-branded chronograph watches has just received another member. This time, it is the Panerai Ferrari Chronograph DLC (Ref. FER 00038) limited edition wristwatch.

With the abbreviation standing for Diamond-Like Coating, the treatment not only provides the timekeeper with a more menacing deep-black color, but also protects the pricey watch from inevitable bumps and scratches that any “sporty” time measuring device attracts like a tiny supermassive black hole.

The new model is delivered in a signature cushion-shaped case impressive 45 millimeters in width, which is covered with special DLC coating.

All in all, the watch doesn’t differ too much from the recently introduced Officine Panerai Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph.

Matching the black case is a natural black rubber strap with a Ferrari logo and a comfortable stainless steel folding clasp with the same scratch-resistant coating.

The only visible difference is the color scheme that was chosen for the mens Panerai Ferrari copy watch’s face (it still features a totally black dial, but now its sub-dials and bold Arabic numerals are so red it almost hurts) and a relatively huge Ferrari logo on the 12 o’clock.

Both indicators are equipped with baton-shaped hands that seem to be unproportionally thin for the big dial. Well, the model’s nighttime readability hasn’t suffered: there is still enough lume for the FER 00038 to be easily readable in any lighting conditions: in total darkness the Superluminova glows brightly, while in twilight the job is done by a winning combination of bright red over matte black.

Inside, there is a Valjoux 7753-based COSC-certified Panerai OP XII Calibre beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and featuring a standard Incabloc antishock device.

Of course, the movement is decorated with the inevitable Cotes de Geneve decoration and features Ferrari’s trademark Prancing Horse logo on its winding rotor.

OP doesn’t say anything about the chronograph’s recommended price, but it’s safe to assume that the MSRP will be set at around $15,000 or so.

On the six o’clock, there is a Formula 1 car’s silhouette.

As usual, the watch comes without Panerai’s own logo. As if the Italian brand is ashamed of something.
