Yohan Blake's Richard Mille Tourbillion Watch

Olympic track star Yohan Blake of Jamaica is in hot water with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for wearing a $500,000 Richard Mille Tourbillion during the 100M semi-finals and finals. Blake finished second behind his countryman Usain Bolt, the brightest light of the 2012 London games.

Blake’s custom perfect copy Richard Mille watch, which features the green and yellows colors of the Jamaican flag, has apparently infuriated IOC officials who have set very strict regulations on what athletes are allowed to wear while competing. If competitors use a piece of equipment that isn’t strictly clothing, it must be from an official sponsor of the Olympics in that category. In the watch category, Omega has long owned this space at the Olympics. Top Quality Richard Mille copy watch is not a sponsor which means Blake is likely to face a stiff fine and possible other sanctions as well.

Blake did not wear the Richard Mille replica watch in Thursday’s 200M finals where he again settled for a silver behind Bolt.
